It was Maundy Thursday yesterday! Apart from swimming (yet again!), Kenny, Christopher and I decided to have lunch at Aston's! for those who don't already know, Aston's is this place opposite Katong Mall serving fantastic western food at really affordable prices! I had grilled pepper fish whereas they both had chargrill chicken, and i must say, this is one of the places that will have me going back for more! Did i mention that Kenny was the driver for today? well, it's a blessing and I'm thankful for it! So after returning home full and 5 shades darker, i got ready for the Maundy Thursday Service and it was truly an eye-opener because it was amazing how a psalm (psalm 22) written 800 years before Christ was born could trace accurately Christ's crucifixion and even provide a glimpse into the present times. Furthermore, i was told that the word excruciating actually comes from the root word crucify! this gives more meaning to the word 'excruciate' because it has taken on a whole new meaning for me.
Overall, it was a busy but rewarding day for me! So how was your day?

feast for four
so the day before (wednesday), i started out my day swimming with pinky (real name: zhi rui). i don't really recall why we call him pinky but i guess it has to do with him being a splitting image of that pinky in 'pinky and the brain'. i suppose the resemblance isn't that great now, but trust me, back then, he was much much much fairer and hence the nickname.
i know this is going to sound strange, but it was my FIRST time trying MOS burger in my entire life! so imagine my enthusiasm when my rice burger arrived, i believe it was called Ebi Rice Burger though. and that pretty much explains why i had to take a picture with my first ever MOS (rice) burger.
next on, shu'en, pinky and i went to the national library to borrow books because our resident bookworm has ran out of books to read! (cue the audience gasping music).
finally, i headed down to kenny's place for a feast! the food was great (although he claimed that he was out of touch with cooking!), and the company even better. he even managed to prepare a MENU for the dishes! i can only imagine the effort gone inside the meal!
so naturally, amie, christopher and i had a sumptuous home cooked meal followed by dessert! as if dinner wasn't sinful enough, we managed to wash it down with four shots of bailey's. looks like its time for swimming again!

choir outing (overdue)
it was a choir outing long overdue, so on tuesday, the six of us-- amie, christopher, faisal, kenny, lynette and i went to swensens for some catching up!
we had a great time overall! but i believe it could have been better, if not for lynette and faisal's early departure (i'm not actually blaming anyone here!).
So the four of us scooted around the esplanade and we managed to catch this live performance! it wasn't that amazing, but i guess the company sort of made up for the ambience! but all in all, i had a wonderful time with the choir people!
